Jaecoo confirms pricing and specs for J8 SUV

Jaecoo has confirmed its new J8 SUV will hit the road from $49,990 drive away. Launched in Australia last week, it builds on the success of the J7, adding extra sophistication and improving performance.

It features a rounded interpretation of Jaecoo’s signature waterfall grille, framed by projector-style LED headlights and sweeping LED daytime running lights. It rides on 20-inch machine-finished alloy wheels.

Jaecoo lettering across the rear light bar adds an extra touch. Customers can choose from four stunning exterior colours, including Arctic White, Carbon Black, Ocean Blue, and Iridium Silver.

Inside, the J8 features dual 12.3-inch LCD displays and a premium 14-speaker surround sound system. Synthetic leather seats provide a plush ride, with heating and ventilation available for both front and rear rows.

Offered in Track (FWD) and Ridge (AWD), with the latter priced from $54,990 drive away, both variants are loaded with standard inclusions. The former gets native GPS navigation, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

It also comes with massaging seats, a powered tailgate and second row air-conditioning controls. The Ridge adds additional drive modes (including Snow, Mud, Sand and Off Road), along continuous damping control and automatic parking.

You also get heated and ventilated second row seating, an in-built fragrance system and a suede headliner. Under the bonnet, the J8 boasts a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine, delivering 183kW of power and 385Nm of torque.

Paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, it offers 8.3-litres/100km in FWD and 8.6-litres/100km in AWD – in terms of fuel economy. Safety tech includes adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking and blind spot detection.

You’ll also find lane departure prevention, emergency lane keeping and driver monitoring, as well as 10 airbags, a 360-degree camera and tyre pressure monitoring. Jaecoo will offer an 8-year unlimited kilometre warranty on the J8.

That’s supported with 12-months complimentary roadside assistance, which can be extended for a further 7-years by completing servicing at authorised dealerships. The Jaecoo J8 will go on-sale in June.

Exhaust Notes Australia attended the launch of the new model and will bring you the full story this Wednesday (4 June) at 10am.
