Isuzu Ute Australia and Mitsubishi Motors Australia have thrown their support behind the Australian Red Cross to help those affected by the recent Queensland and New South Wales floods.
Since storms and rainfall caused flash flooding across these two states, tens of thousands of Australians have been left without homes, belongings, power and more—unsure of when they will be able to recover.
Donations to the QLD and NSW Floods Appeal will enable the Red Cross to help with evacuation and relief centres and support people and communities to recover from the devastating impacts.
Isuzu Ute contributed a total of $179,000 to the ‘Australia Unites: Australian Red Cross Flood Appeal’, in the form of a $100,000 donation and $79,000 raised through the auction of an Isuzu D-MAX 4×4 Ute, last Saturday (12 March).
“With much of QLD and NSW impacted by these recent floods, my thoughts and well wishes go out to those who have been affected, I hope you continue to stay safe and can recover from these devastations as quickly as possible,” Isuzu Ute Australia managing director Hiroyasu Sato said.
“In times like these, it is encouraging to see the whole country come together in support of those who need our help and to rally behind charities like the Australian Red Cross who can further provide the help that is needed.”
Parallel to the generosity of Isuzu UTE, Mitsubishi Motors Australia also donated $100,000 to the same appeal, and is additionally a strong supporter of Disaster Relief Australia, supplying them with vehicles to assist them in the work they do.
The Australian Red Cross QLD and NSW Floods Appeal has so far raised $3.9 million, with the Telethon contributing another $25.2 million to support those who have been impacted.
To date, more than 550 Red Cross personnel and volunteers have been active in the emergency response, allowing them to assist over 11,000 community members. To show your support and donate to the Appeal, visit www.redcross.org.au/floodsappeal/
