HSV confirms pricing for Chevy Camaro

FOLLOWING the launch of the Colorado SportsCat and Chevrolet Silverado ranges, HSV has today confirmed pricing for the new Chevrolet Camaro 2SS, with the high peformance two door set to hit the road at $85,990.

HSV is re-engineering and re-manufacturing the legendary Chevrolet Camaro for the Australia and New Zealand markets, with production to commence this month at HSV’s new facilities in Clayton South, Victoria.

The Camaro 2SS is powered by Chevrolet’s 6.2-litre Generation V LT1 direct injection V8 engine mated to a smooth shifting, 8-speed, paddle-shift automatic transmission and generating up to 339kW of power and 617Nm of torque.

Featuring VVT and active fuel management, the LT1 will offer effeciency and power as required. The vehicle’s IRS, with twin shocks, provides a solid connection to the road, with stopping power delivered by Brembo brakes.

It rides on stylish 20-inch, 5-split-spoke alloys, wrapped in 245/40ZR20 (front) and 275/35ZR20 (rear) Goodyear Eagle tyres, while a rear stanchion spoiler and dual-outlet exhaust with bright tips add aggression at the tail.

The premium interior of the Camaro 2SS starts with power-adjustable heated and ventilated leather-trimmed front sports bucket seats, and a heated, leather-wrapped, flat-bottom sports-profile steering wheel.

Dual zone automatic climate control, a 9-speaker Bose premium audio system and 24 colour interior spectrum lighting enhance ambience. There’s also remote start, and a customisable 8-inch digital instrument cluster.

Wireless phone charging is available too, as is a power sunroof as standard, and even a universal garage door opener. Driver mode control offers four distinctive drive modes – Tour, Sport, Snow/Ice and Track – that deliver four radically unique driving experiences.

Just 550 vehicles will be available in the first 12 months. Prices are plus on-roads. An additional $850 fee will apply to optional metallic paint colours, including Bright Yellow, Garnet Red Tintcoat and Hyper Blue Metallic.
