Honda has confirmed just a single variant of its 2025 CB1000 Hornet is headed for Australia, with the range topping SP to be offered for $17,799 plus on-roads. It’s due to arrive in late March.
With a reputation originating in the late 1990s – first with the CB600F, with its four-cylinder CBR engine, followed by the CB900F in the early 2000s – the Hornet name brings with it a clear identity: to wear the moniker, a motorcycle has to be fast, fun and affordable.
That trend continued with the arrival of the 2023 CB750 Hornet, and the learner-friendly CB500 Hornet in late 2024. Now, for 2025, comes the headline act, the new CB1000 Hornet SP. Packing real punch, it combines premium equipment and an impressive formula.
The CB1000 Hornet SP features a 115.6kW/107Nm four-cylinder engine (which made its debut on the 2017 CBR1000RR), a fully adjustable 41mm Showa SFF-BP USD fork, and an Öhlins TTX36 rear shock operating through Pro-Link suspension.
Four-piston radial-mount Brembo Stylema front brake callipers and a standard-fit quick shifter are also included. To be offered in just one paint colour, Matte Ballistic Black Metallic, it will sport three riding modes.

Each features a pre-set combination for power, engine braking and selectable torque control, complete with integrated wheelie control. There’s also the option to create two of your own. Gear ratios in the 6-speed transmission are designed for optimal acceleration.
An assist/slipper clutch and throttle-by-wire system delivers precise control. Twin LED projector headlights define the pure aggression of its streetfighter style, and a 5.0-inch colour TFT display provides instruments, navigation and smartphone connectivity.
Seat height is 809mm and it packs a kerb weight of 212kg. Safety tech includes Honda’s emergency stop signal. It rides on 17-inch rims front and rear, with the choice of Bridgestone Battlax Hypersport S22F or Dunlop Sportmax Roadsport 2 rubber.
