THE battle for ute supremacy just got a little tougher, with Holden announcing it will launch a brutal version of its popular Z71; making the Colorado Xtreme concept vehicle first unveiled at the Bangkok International Motor Show in 2016, a reality.
Designed and built by Holden’s Port Melbourne-based design team, the Colorado Xtreme is expected to go head to head with Ford’s Ranger Raptor, and showcases a wide range of accessories designed to create a tough looking exterior.
To help tackle all types of activity, the Colorado Z71 Xtreme adds a best-in-class winch system equipped with a heavy-duty bash plate, as well as 10,000lb load capacity and a 30m synthetic line.
It also gains a high visibility LED light bar, combined with a winch bar, upgraded front suspension, all terrain tyres and vehicle recovery kit, full towing package, roof tray kit, rear steel step and fender flares.
A new front suspension kit, and black side steps and grille complete the redesigned and upgraded special edition, which rides on 18-inch 18″ Goodyear All Terrain Wrangler 265/60R18 tyres.
Available in auto only, and equipped with a big 2.8 litre Duramax turbo diesel engine, the Colorado Z71 Xtreme boasts 500Nm of torque and a 3.5-tonne towing capacity. It’s priced at $69,990 drive away.
The Colorado Xtreme Z71 will be available at Holden dealers from 1 October 2018.
