Adding to its growing range of new-generation SUVs, GWM has confirmed that the sporty Haval H6 GT will be available in Australia from Q2. The first of its kind is already in the country for final testing and to help preparation for a local launch.
Adopting a coupe-style roofline, the H6 GT offers a fresh option for buyers looking for SUV practicality, with more dynamic styling. In addition to the altered rear end, there’s also dual spoilers and twin exhaust outlets.
The front end also features a more aggressive design, with a wider grille complemented by an air intake at the lower end of the bonnet. Inside, core features such as the 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and 12.3-inch central display are consistent with its H6 sibling.
Enhancements include sports seats and unique cabin trim, in a combination that ensures that the H6 GT sets itself apart. But the changes are more than just design related, with high-performance Brembo brakes being matched to Michelin tyres as well.
The wheelbase of the GT matches that of the standard H6, and power comes courtesy of a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine with 150kW of power and 320Nm of torque, mated to a 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission.
The H6 GT also features an extensive list of safety equipment, including autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, adaptive cruise control with stop/go, forward collision warning, lane keep assist and lane departure warning.
Like it’s Jolion and H6 siblings, and the GWM Ute, the H6 GT comes with a 7-year unlimited kilometre warranty, 5-years roadside assist and 5-years capped price servicing. Further details around pricing and H6 GT line-up will be disclosed nearer to its release date.
