Harley-Davidson unveils X350 and X500 learner bikes

In its 120th year of innovation, Harley-Davidson has today announced two new motorcycles for Australia. Dubbed the X350 and X500, these learner approved bikes offer a comfortable riding experience.

The ergonomics put the rider in a relaxed, upright riding position. Suspension is tuned for a compliant ride on rougher roads, and the front and rear suspension is adjustable for rider preference.

In the case of the X350, at 777mm high, the seat is wide and well-padded for long-range comfort. The chassis, suspension and tyres combine to offer confident handling.

Delivered in a lightweight and agile package, it’s powered by a 353cc DOHC 4-valve liquid-cooled parallel twin engine.

Tuned to produce strong mid-range torque and mated to a six-speed transmission, it features a cable-actuated wet-plate clutch with chain final drive, and 17-inch front and rear wheels. It rides on Maxxis Supermaxx ST tyres.

Dual front disc brakes and a single rear disc brake, with ABS are standard, while up front there’s a 41mm inverted fork with adjustable rebound damping. Mono-shock rear suspension features a coil spring with pre-load and rebound damping adjustability.

The X500 features classic sportster styling, with a bobbed rear fender inspired by the iconic Iron 883, Forty-Eight, and the new Nightster models. The two-up saddle has a wide, thick cushion for comfort, and is styled with contrasting stitching and a textured section.

It’s powered by a 500cc DOHC 4-valve liquid-cooled parallel twin, mated to a six-speed transmission. It features the same wet-plate clutch, wheels and tyres as its smaller sibling, as well as the same brake package.

In this case there’s a 50mm inverted fork, again with adjustable rebound damping. The balance of the bike’s specs are the same as the X350, with the exception of the seat height, which sits at 820mm.

The bikes are due to arrive in Australia later this year. The X350 will be priced at $8,495 ride away, and offered in Dramatic Black, Dynamic Orange, Supersonic Silver, and Pearl White. The X500 will priced at $11,495 ride away and is available in the same colours.

A range of Harley-Davidson X accessories will also be available. For more information, contact your  local Harley-Davidson dealer.
