Harley-Davidson reveals 2025 model range

A model we’ll likely not see down under and a whole host of touring bikes heads Harley-Davidson’s 2025 range, unveiled earlier today in the United States. Leading the local line-up is the Street Glide Ultra.

While the Pan America ST isn’t bound for Oz and the Sport Glide has has been axed, it’s that new Ultra that’s set to elevate the long-distance touring experience, combining the comfort, technology, performance, and design elements introduced on the 2024 range.

Added to that are new features intended to support two-up, long-haul travel for riders seeking freedom and adventure. The Softail cruiser range gets a refresh too, with each model scoring a new Milwaukee-Eight 117 powertrain.

The Low Rider S, Low Rider ST, Breakout, Heritage Classic, Fat Boy and Street Bob all feature, along with a new Sportster S, underpinned by revised suspension (with a 60 per cent increase in rear wheel travel), and on-demand torque.

There’s no impact to the seat height either, improving rider comfort on some road surfaces. Both front and rear suspension are now fully adjustable for compression/rebound damping and preload too.

Three super-premium, limited-production CVO models have also been added, including updated versions of the Street Glide and Road Glide, as well as the Road Glide ST. The latter is inspired by the Screamin’ Eagle King of the Baggers race team.

It combines an exclusive Milwaukee-Eight 121 H.O. engine with a host of high-performance components in a package that’s both fast and sophisticated. Harley-Davidson is also adding the option for factory custom paint and graphics for those keen on something truly unique.

It means buyers can add their own look to their motorcycle, backed with a full factory warranty and without the expense or downtime associated with having custom paint applied by a third party.

For 2025, three offerings will be available on select models, with each paint set featuring a special black tank medallion with chrome accents and a mother-of-pearl textured background in either purple or orange.

The three paint schemes are known collectively as Mystic Shift, Midnight Firestorm and Whiskey Firestorm. The first of these offers a dramatic hue shift which travels from a dark gunmetal to purple, then blue and almost orange and is especially apparent in full sunlight.

The Firestorm paint schemes respond to a current custom trend for flame details in paint. Harley-Davidson offered its first factory flame paint scheme on the 1980 Wide Glide model and has reprised the look several times, most notably on the 2011 variant.

The Firestorm schemes feature a “ghost fade” or inner fade effect – the fade color is slightly brighter than the basecoat. In certain angles, the flames pop dramatically but are subtle in others.

Midnight Firestorm is a dark-flamed scheme featuring ghosted flames over a Vivid Black base with a charcoal inner glow, while Whiskey Firestorm features an added mid-coat for a deeper orange shade with Ember Sunglo ghost flames with a brighter orange inner glow.
