H6 Hybrid set to hit the road for under $45K

THE arrival of the new Haval H6 Hybrid in Australia is imminent, with the eco friendly version of the popular SUV set to hit the road at $44,990 drive away. Based on the range topping H6 Ultra, the new model will be available initially in just one grade.

The H6 Hybrid Ultra 4×2 is powered by a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine mated to a two-speed 130kW electric drive motor, delivering a segment-leading combination of 179kW and 530Nm, and fuel efficiency of just 5.2-litres/100km using regular unleaded fuel.

GWM’s DHT smart hybrid system combines a petrol engine and electric motor with an electronically controlled transmission to offer excellent acceleration and performance at low speeds, with increased efficiency and power at higher speeds.

The combination delivers a driving experience similar to that of a BEV. With the ability to operate in multiple drive modes including EV, Series, Parallel and Regeneration, GWM’s DHT setup is designed to provide maximum efficiency across all speed and load conditions.

With a highly integrated and compact design for lighter weight, the DHT system also offers excellent reliability and NVH performance.

Visually, the H6 Hybrid will differentiate itself from the current standard model with a new front grille, added door trims and rear centre brake lights. Offering superb value, it carries over the extensive feature list found on the high-spec Ultra.

These include 19-inch alloy wheels, Comfortek leather seats with 6-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat, heated and ventilated front seats, a heated leather steering wheel, 10.25-inch colour LED instrument cluster and 12.3-inch colour multimedia touchscreen.

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is standard, along with an electronic anti-glare rear view mirror, head-up display, wireless phone charging, a panoramic sunroof and electric tailgate.

A range of safety features includes autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian and bicycle detection, adaptive cruise control with stop and go, lane departure warning and lane keep assist, lane change assist and blind spot monitoring.

Traffic sign recognition, rear cross traffic alert with brake, driver fatigue monitoring and a 360-degree camera also feature, as does fully automatic parking capabilities.

“The addition of the Haval H6 Hybrid to our SUV line-up marks another milestone for GWM,” head of marketing and communications Steve Maciver said.

“We’ve made no secret of the fact that electrification will play an important part of our future product plans and it starts right here with the Haval H6 Hybrid,” he added.

“With an efficient petrol engine, electric drive motor and hybrid transmission not only does the H6 Hybrid offer excellent fuel efficiency but a rewarding drive too.”

The new Haval H6 Hybrid will be covered by the same 7-year unlimited kilometre warranty as all GWM vehicles, in addition to 5-years roadside assistance and a 5-year capped price servicing program.
