Genesis G80 set to redefine luxury standards in 2021

THE progressive 2021 Genesis G80 elevates the brand’s Athletic Elegance design philosophy in an new, luxury-focused large sedan, boasting aspirational design, rich quality, and leading edge safety and technology.

The Genesis G80 is the perfect complement to the G70 sports sedan and opulent all-new GV80 SUV, and features a progressive exterior, which elevates the Genesis Athletic Elegance design paradigm to new heights.

Accentuating the dynamic visual architecture created by the long front dashboard-to-axle ratio and short overhangs front and rear, the G80 showcases a Genesis crest emblem-inspired G-Matrix grille flanked by twin-stripe quad headlamps.

Eleven exterior colours will give customers extensive choice, with nine gloss metallic/mica shades and two matte finishes. The design of G80’s luxurious cabin is inspired by a Korean philosophy that emphasises ‘the beauty of white space’.

The result is a car that is a minimalistic, intuitive and ergonomic design that places the focus on the driver, while treating every occupant to a richly luxurious experience. It will be offered in two variants, both with turbo petrol power trains.

They will be available in rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive, and with an optional Luxury Pack. The G80 2.5T opens the range, powered by a potent and efficient 2.5-litre turbocharged engine.

The petrol four cylinder unit delivers 224kW and 422Nm, and is teamed exclusively with rear-wheel drive via a refined eight-speed automatic transmission. It features as standard genuine leather and real wood finished trim.

You’ll also get a 14.5-inch HD touchscreen multimedia interface, multi-spoke 19-inch alloy wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres, a panoramic sunroof, and a powered hands free boot.

There are 10 airbags and a range standard suite of Genesis active safety control technologies, including forward collision avoidance assist, driver attention warning, blind spot collision avoidance assist, smart cruise control, and a surround view monitor.

The flagship Genesis G80 3.5T AWD features a twin-turbo 3.5-litre engine producing 279kW and 530Nm. The powerhouse petrol V6 sports an electronically controlled Genesis AWD system and eight speed automatic transmission to deliver scintillating performance.

The G80 3.5T AWD variants further enhance comfort and handling by adding Genesis adaptive control suspension (GACS) featuring advanced road preview technology, along with five-spoke 20-inch alloy wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres.

A Luxury Package is available for both variants, and introduces Nappa leather trim and suede headlining and pillars, a 12.3-inch full screen 3D instrument cluster, and three zone climate control.

In addition, it brings soft close doors, an 18-way power adjustable driver’s seat with Ergo Motion massage function, and the intelligent front lighting system with matrix-type headlights.

Additional standard convenience and luxury features in the G80 include wireless smartphone charging, 12-way power-adjustable heated and ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, 21-speaker Lexicon premium audio, and DAB+ radio.

The luxurious and comfortable interior comes with the choice of five upholstery colour combinations, paired with two open-pore real wood trims.

Each upholstery combination is in a contemporary two-tone, with the exception of the classic Obsidian Black single-tone treatment.
