GENESIS has expanded its growing SUV range with the launch of the GV70, its first midsized SUV model. Featuring a uniquely athletic design, and a luxurious driver-oriented interior, it’s the ultimate interpretation of the ‘beauty of white space’.
The GV70 offers an optimal driving experience by adopting state-of-the-art technologies including Highway Driving Assist II, which helps drivers on highways or driveways control the steering wheel when changing lanes.
It also offers a fingerprint authentication system that is connected to the simple in-car payment service Genesis CarPay, and radar based advanced rear occupant alert; all first of their kind technologies that set the new model apart from its competition.
The front of the GV70 reflect Genesis’s brand identity with the crest grille and two-lined quad lamps, with the lamps set at the same height as the grille to accentuate its prominent stance.
The centre console creates a driver-centric layout, with the new dial-type shift-by-wire gear selector resembling a meticulously refined jewel, creating a delicate balance of simplicity and sophistication.
The GV70’s interior is optimised to offer passengers a generous amount of space and combines with a low seating height to provide a great sense of comfort and a dynamic driving environment.
Superior reclining angles, wide leg room, and ventilated rear seats offer second row passengers a comfortable driving experience. In addition, the GV70 applies new technologies to provide clean air.
The addition of the sports package adds dynamic elements, including exclusive interior colours, an exclusive steering wheel, and optional carbon fibre details on the console and door.
A dual filter system improves indoor air quality by preventing fine dust and bacteria from entering the engine room pre-filter and indoor cabin filter. The latter, especially, efficiently removes fine dust from inside and outside of the vehicle.
It also removes indoor bioaerosols by up to 99.9 per cent within 10 minutes based on its antibacterial function. Sound insulation glass also enhances sound absorption for improved interior tranquility.
The exterior design of the GV70 sport package creates a sporty and dynamic image with a strong blackout bezel, the three-dimensional pattern of a dark chrome garnished grille mesh design, and an exclusive bumper design.
It also adds a large circular muffler, a body-coloured diffuser, and 19 and 21-inch Sport-exclusive wheels. Those rims help keep the luxury midsize rear-wheel drive SUV delivering comfortable driving experiences, even when off-road.
The GV70 is available in three engine configurations, including a 3.5-litre turbo petrol (224kW and 422Nm), a 2.5-litre turbo petrol (280kW and 530Nm), or the 2.2-litre turbo diesel (155kW and 441Nm).
Launch control technology helps manage engine torque and wheel spin at optimum conditions to maximise departure acceleration performance. As a result, the range topping 3.5-litre model can reach 100km/h in 5.1 seconds.
Moreover, a multi-terrain control allows for stable driving performance in various terrestrial circumstances, such as snowy roads, sand, or mud (AWD models only).
Safety is paramount to the GV70’s design too, with forward collision avoidance assist, blind spot collision-avoidance assist, intelligent speed limit assist, driver attention warning, and navigation-based smart cruise control.
The new GV70 SUV will arrive locally in the first half of 2021. The Australian model line-up, specification and pricing will be announced closer to launch.
