General Tire launches all-terrain duo in Australia

General Tire is introducing two new 4×4 tyres on to the Australian market from today, in the form of the GRABBER ATX and AT3. The duo of all-terrain rubber offers exceptional off-road capability and durability, balanced with impressive on-road performance.

Owned by Continental Tyres, General Tire is introducing design elements that allow for unprecedented performance, increased mileage, and improved safety with comfort balance technology allowing for a quieter ride on-road.

That’s thanks to a tread cushioning system with an acoustic tread pattern, while its signature DuraGen tech provide long, even wear with excellent cut and chip resistance. Traction notches offer additional grip in dirt, snow, and all loose surfaces.

The tread has been developed to include a sturdy compound with reinforced blocks, ensuring increased mileage in rugged conditions. Moreover, it delivers confident stability under all approved load guidelines thanks to ultra-high-strength steel belts.

An open tread shoulder ensures efficient self-cleaning action for added traction in mud. Both patterns have a range of sidewall features including large sidewall lugs on the upper sidewall protecting the tyre body from stones, rocks, and debris too.

A series of stacked deflection ribs provide protection to the upper sidewall area by deflecting obstacles away from the tyre body. While the rim protection rib shields the tyre and wheel bead area from damage caused by curb stones and off-road obstacles.

The more rugged ATX is available in 13 sizes ranging from 235/85 R16 to 275/65 R20, while the AT3 is available in nine options, from 225/75 R16 to 265/65 R18.

“The design of these tyres provides Aussie drivers with the confidence they need when tackling the vast array of unpredictable conditions our landscape presents,” Continental Tires and General Tire head of East Region Asia Pacific Mitchell Golledge said.
