GAC Australia has confirmed the fourth model to join its local lineup will be the fully electric AION UT hatchback. The brand says it offers a balance of considered design, intelligent technology and accessibility.
Deliberately tailored to meet the demands of contemporary city life, the new model joins the AION V EV, GAC’s recently launched medium SUV, and was designed in Milan. Drawing influence from Europe’s fashion capital, it features a sleek, fastback look.
A two-tone floating roof and playful pixel graphics enhance its tech-savvy character. Up front, the AION UT is equipped with the world’s first “eyebrow style” headlamp design, further adding to its playful demeanour (which we reckon looks cool).
The AION UT will also deliver highly competitive interior space dimensions within its segment, thanks to the model’s longer 2,750mm wheelbase. It’s set to build on the existing Australian offerings, including the AION V, M8 PHEV and EMZOOM.
“Our strategy of ‘In Australia, For Australia’, will see GAC bring more than 10 models to the Australian market in the coming five years,” GAC Australia president Kevin Shu said.
“The GAC AION UT showcases the strength of GAC’s product portfolio, combining elegant design with clever technology that genuinely enhances the daily lives of its owners,” he added.
“I have no doubt this model will resonate strongly with Australians seeking an intelligent, city-focused vehicle to navigate the nation’s iconic urban landscapes.”
Pricing, technical specifications and a full equipment list for Australian variants of the AION UT will be released in due course, ahead of the model’s availability in Q2 2026.
