Ford unveils new styling, more performance for Mach-E

Ford Australia has announced a significant update for the Mustang Mach-E, with the revised 2025 model scheduled to arrive in dealerships from October. It now features enhanced performance, greater efficiency, and refreshed styling.

The Mach-E continues to be available in three variants: the rear-wheel drive Select, the extended-range rear-wheel drive Premium, and the high-performance flagship all-wheel drive GT.

Pricing for the updated offerings kicks off at $65,990 for the Select, $80,490 for the Premium and $98,490 for the GT (all plus on-roads). Ford marketing director Ambrose Henderson said the car maker was focused on delivering a more compelling package.

“The MY25 Mustang Mach-E does exactly that, offering enhanced features, striking new design inside and out, along with more power for Select and GT variants, and a new, energy efficient heat pump for the entire line up, reinforcing our commitment to sustainability and innovation.”

The Mach-E GT receives a substantial performance boost, with maximum system power increasing to 434kW and torque climbing to an impressive 955Nm. This power is complemented by an increased estimated range, now up to 515km.

The entry-level Select model also gets a power increase to 212kW and 525Nm of torque. The Premium model’s torque output also rises to 525Nm. The battery chemistry remains unchanged for each variant.

Additionally, charging times have improved for both the Premium and GT, dropping from an estimated 45 minutes to 36 minutes to recharge from 10 to 80 per cent when using a 150kW DC fast charger.

A key enhancement across the entire lineup is the addition of a new heat pump, designed to improve the vehicle’s energy efficiency while heating or cooling the cabin. Select and Premium variants benefit from new suspension hardware and tuning too.

For the 2025 model, the non-GT models feature updated sway bars, springs and dampers. All trims will sport new alloy wheels, while the Premium now features Matte Black lower front, rear, and side bumper cladding, with wheel arch mouldings changed to body colour.

The GT model boasts a refreshed grille design, while inside, a new column-mounted monostable shifter replaces the previous rotary gear dial, creating more space in the centre console. Front row seats have been upgraded to offer 10-way power adjustment as well.

The Select comes standard with the same projector beam headlamps as the Premium and GT models, and there are now eight colour options, six of them new: Eruption Green, Molten Magenta, Terrain, Velocity Blue, Glacier Grey, and Grabber Yellow.

The updated 2025.00 model year Mustang Mach-E will be available for customer deliveries starting from October this year.
