Ford reveals new top-spec Platinum Ranger

Ford Australia has today revealed the top-spec Ranger Platinum, further expanding its ute line-up. Offered in the popular pickup layout, as a five seat, double cab variant, it sports unique styling and premium features.

Powered by Ford’s 3.0-litre V6 turbodiesel engine, producing 184kW of power and 600Nm of torque, the powerplant is paired with an electronically controlled full-time four-wheel drive system, combined with a 10-speed automatic transmission.

The result is refined, responsive, confident performance regardless of conditions, and a generous maximum braked towing weight of 3,500kg, like the rest of the Ranger model range.

Key exterior enhancements include a unique grille, 20-inch alloy wheels, ‘Platinum’ hood badging, Silk Chrome trims, Matrix LED headlamps, a damped tailgate which makes lowering the tailgate effortless, and Ford’s ingenious flexible rack system.

The Ranger Platinum will also be available in the Equinox Bronze paint colour, previously available only on Everest. Inside, there’s quilted leather accented seats and a heated steering wheel.

The front seats are heated and ventilated with 10-way power adjust and with memory function for the driver, while the 12.4-inch digital instrument cluster and decorative finishes add to the sense of opulence when you get behind the wheel.

Inside the 2023 Ford Ranger Platinum

The Ranger Platinum sets itself apart from other variants with its Everest-inspired dashboard, which features a closed shelf and upper glovebox, while badging on front seats and floor mats round out the interior enhancements.

Every bit as versatile as its siblings, it also features a sliding load rack to go with the roof racks that feature crossbars that swing across the roof when needed, can be adjusted to two different lengths, and then stored away in the roof rails when not being used.

Other highlights include a black painted roof, power roller shutter, heated and ventilated front seats, a B&O premium audio system, and auxiliary switch bank. The 2023 Ford Ranger Platinum is priced at $76,990 plus on-roads.

Customers can build their own at ford.com.au, allowing them to make an online reservation for Ranger Platinum (managed by local dealer), ahead of it going into production in April next year. First deliveries will be in May.
