Ford reveals Black Edition Everest

Ford has gone dark on the look of its large SUV, introducing a new Everest Black Edition, and offering Australian families a distinctive choice in 7-seat practicality and full-time 4WD off road capability.

With 750 units set for Australian roads, the Everest Black Edition will stand out with blacked-out aesthetics and a drive away price of $69,000. Based on the Trend 2.0-litre bi-turbo diesel 4×4 model, it gains a fresh identity.

That’s thanks to a black front grille, black side mirrors, black door handles and black 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 255/65R18 all-terrain tyres. EVEREST lettering adorns the hood, with matching interior sill scuff plates.

Under that bonnet is a 154kW/500Nm powertrain that’s paired to a 10-speed automatic transmission, with full time 4WD offering selectable 2H, 4A, 4H and 4L. It features a locking rear diff and six drive modes.

Those include Eco, Normal, Tow/Haul, Slippery, Mud/Ruts and Sand. It has an 800mm wading depth, 229mm of ground clearance and 30.4-degree approach, 22.2-degree ramp over and 25.3-degree departure angles.

Complementing the lashings of black, the Everest Black Edition is available in a choice of three achromatic paint finishes: Aluminium Metallic, Shadow Black, and a new Black Edition exclusive, Alabaster White (all at no additional cost).

Parallel to the new model, Ford is offering three add-on packs for buyers to tailer their Black Edition, including a Premium Seat Pack, Towing Pack and Touring Pack. The first of these adds heating and ventilation to the front seats.

It also includes 10 and 8-way power adjustment for the driver and front passenger. The Towing Pack enables the driver to take full advantage of the 3500kg braked towing capacity with the addition of a tow bar and hitch.

It also scores an integrated electric trailer brake controller and 12-pin wiring harness. The Touring Pack adds a 360 degree camera and Ford’s pro trailer backup assist, which helps take the guesswork out of reversing a trailer with intuitive steering control.

Safety tech includes intelligent adaptive cruise control with stop and go, traffic sign recognition with lane centering, blind spot monitoring with cross traffic alert and trailer coverage, lane keeping aid and lane departure warning.

You’ll also find pre-collision assist with autonomous emergency braking and intersection assist, front and rear parking sensors, and reverse brake assist. All Ford Everest models come with a 5-year unlimited kilometre warranty.

Order books are now open for the 2025 Ford Everest Black Edition, with first deliveries expected from July this year. You can find out more from your local Ford dealership.
