Ford launches new Puma down under, complete with virtual drives

AUSSIES will be able to take the new Ford Puma for a ‘Desk Drive’ from the comfort and convenience of their own home as part of a number of initiatives to make shopping for a new vehicle simpler, easier and more transparent.

The award-winning Puma arrives in showrooms later this month, with the Desk Drive initiative coupled with introductory programs including drive-away pricing and incentives for in-person test drives at Ford dealerships across the country.

“The all-new Puma is a cutting edge, sharply designed and smartly packaged urban SUV that strengthens customer choice in Australia,” Ford Australia president and CEO Andrew Birkic said.

“Making life even easier and simpler, these introductory offers show a new way of thinking, and we’ve worked with our dealer network to offer customers a straightforward, informative and effortless experience.”

The ‘Desk Drives’ virtual test drive program will see Ford and its dealerships host Facebook Live events via the Ford Australia Facebook page, enabling people to easily access the Puma from the comfort of their own home, or from anywhere they choose.

The Ford Puma is a new-generation compact SUV sourced from Europe. In getting to know the new model, participants will be able to experience a ‘walkaround’ to discover its distinctive design and practicality.

Features include wireless smartphone charging, SYNC 3 with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto compatibility and FordPass Connect embedded modem. The first Puma ‘Desk Drive’ is scheduled for late September 2020.

Details and dates are available at Ford Australia’s Facebook page. In addition, to celebrate the arrival of the new Ford Puma in Australia, Ford dealerships across the country are also offering customers compelling drive-away pricing from launch.

National pricing provides clear, transparent costs for customers, enabling a simple and easy way for them evaluate Puma ahead of purchase. The range starts at $31,990 drive away for the Puma FWD, and $33,990 drive away, for the ST-Line.

The range topping ST-Line V is $36,990 drive-away. Customers who test-drive the Puma in person during this time and go on to purchase one will receive a bonus of $500, which increases to a $1,000 loyalty bonus for existing Ford owners.

Puma owners will also enjoy the peace-of-mind of a five-year, unlimited kilometre warranty and Ford Service benefits, which include a complimentary service loan car, Auto Club membership including roadside assistance, as well as SYNC 3i sat-nav map updates.

The new Puma will also be joined in showrooms by the next generation Ford Escape, with the duo joining the refined, highly-equipped Endura and the off-road capable, seven-seat Everest.
