First ORA 5 SUV shipments land in Australia

The ORA 5 SUV has officially arrived in Australia, with first shipments landing into Eastern seaboard ports over recent days. Deliveries to GWM dealer showrooms across all states are expected this week.

That means prospective buyers can book a test drive with their local dealer and get their first behind-the-wheel experience of the all-electric SUV. Since being unveiled at the Melbourne Motor Show in April, there has been close to 3,000 expressions of interest in the new model.

The ORA 5 is a model that GWM, and its 127-strong dealer network, have been looking forward to for some time, with the combination of a fully electric powertrain in a stylish SUV body expected to hit the sweet spot for many EV buyers.

Priced from just $33,990 drive away, the ORA 5 is Australia’s most-affordable SUV-based EV. It will be offered in two trim levels, including the Lux, and range topping Ultra ($36,990 drive away).

The ORA 5 SUV brings greater size, capability, and gravitas to the nameplate while reinforcing GWM’s focus on delivering affordable, technology-led electric mobility across core growth segments.

“It’s no secret that we’ve been keen to add a fully electrified SUV to the range for some time and the ORA 5 is the perfect model to kick start GWM’s EV ambitions,” GWM Australia COO John Kett said.

Its addition, alongside more ORA models slated for launch this year, provides GWM with a real opportunity to also become one of the country’s biggest EV brands. You can find out more from your local dealership.
