Facelifted Citroën C5 Aircross Sport headed down under

Citroën Australia has confirmed the impressive, almost sassy looking C5 Aircross Sport is headed down under, expected to arrive here later in the first half of the year. Much like the C5 X and C4, it will be offered in a single variant.

Featuring an upgraded engine and transmission combination, the C5 Aircross Sport is now powered by a 133kW/250Nm 1.6-litre turbocharged PureTech petrol engine, paired with an 8-speed efficient automatic transmission.

Visually larger and with a highly confident attitude, the C5 Aircross Sport introduces a new design language in which curves give way to more structured lines. The styling of the front end has had a facelift too, with a distinctive, more modern look.

In addition, it features a panoramic sunroof, the updated glossy black grille houses projector LED lighting, with dual daytime running lights and LED indicators. A new skid plate and rear taillights complete a refreshed package.

A Black Pack adds 19-inch black alloys, mirror shells, and roof, along with matte black roof rails and black air bumps and fog light surrounds. The seats now wear a new Paloma Nappa leather perforated trim.

The armrests and the central console are made of a new black leather effect fabric and the dashboard, of a new structured black leather effect insert. The interior trim features high-end finishes too.

Other updated interior features include an upgraded 10.0-inch infotainment system, a Hype Black interior with blue highlights and stitching, heated front seats and a driver’s massage function. An e-Toggle gear selector and Grip Control driving mode are included.

The central console also integrates a large storage area and regroups connectivity with two USB-ports and a wireless charger. On the safety front, you’ll find highway driver assist, level two autonomous driving and adaptive cruise control.

Additionally, there’s active lane departure warning, AEB, blind spot detection, speed limiter recognition, hill descent assist, tyre pressure monitoring, ABS, EBD and emergency brake assist, along with dynamic stability control and electronic anti-skid.

The exterior colour range includes Polar White, Perla Nera Black, Platinum Grey, Steel Grey, Eclipse Blue and Pearlescent White. Pricing and a final launch date are yet to be announced, but you can register your interest on the Citroën Australia website.
