As spring takes hold and with the promise of warmer weather, it’s a fantastic time to be a motoring enthusiast in Australia. Registered Australian mental health charity Drive Against Depression (DAD) is along for the ride too.
Working constantly to deliver a range of events across multiple locations, their programs are designed to further a vital message: “When going through mental health challenges, we hear you. We see you.”
Just as importantly, their supportive community is ready to help DAD events bring together a like-minded and non-judgemental community, where conversations about mental health are normalised and connection is fostered over the shared enthusiasm for motoring.
Following on from its successful, first-ever Sydney event, it’s now Brisbane’s turn, with an inaugural drive set down for Sunday, 15 October.
Commencing from Ferny Grove and taking in a picturesque, meandering drive to Maleny for lunch, participants can expect to enjoy the scenery, ogle some fine machinery, and hear from keynote speaker, health and wellness expert Olly Bridge.
The following weekend, on Sunday, 22 October, DAD will deliver its Melbourne Spring Drive, which, like this weekend’s Queensland event, is also open for registration. It will start from Mernda and take the scenic route via Heathcote.
From there, it will continue on to the legendary Maldon Hotel for a group lunch and the opportunity to relax and regale stories of the day.
Spots are still available for the Brisbane event and you can register here. If you’re in Victoria, you can register for Spring Melbourne online. To find out more about Drive Against Depression, visit their website.
