If you’re someone who drives regularly, whether in a busy city or quieter suburb, having a reliable dash cam, like DDPAI’s N5 Dual offering, is more essential than ever. From accidents to unexpected road events, these units can make all the difference.
That’s especially so when it comes to proving your side of the story. In the case of this particular item, the DDPAI N5 Dual dash cam is a feature-packed, affordable option that delivers on quality and functionality, offering peace of mind wherever you are on the road.
The DDPAI N5 Dual arrives in a sleek, well-organised package, with all its features clearly highlighted on the box. Inside, you’ll find the dash cam itself, a rear camera for full coverage, an external radar sensor, and all the necessary cables for installation.
The design is compact yet powerful, and unlike other bulkier dash cams, the N5 Dual is minimalist and stylish. The extended cables that it comes with ensure that you can tuck it neatly away too.
When it comes to dash cams, picture quality is crucial, and the DDPAI N5 Dual does not disappoint. The front camera records in stunning 4K ultra HD, capturing every important detail clearly, whether you’re navigating a busy street or cruising down quieter roads.

The rear camera also records in full HD, ensuring that you’re fully covered with footage from both directions. Thanks to its eight megapixel sensor, the camera performs exceptionally well in various lighting conditions, including low light.
Every detail is captured without the annoying grain you get from night time shots on some dash cams. What makes this a standout unit though is the fact it features motion detection that activates when the car is parked.
This makes it ideal for areas where parking can be tight or in places where accidents might happen when you’re not around. If the camera unit detects that someone might be about to hit your car while it’s stationary, the dash cam starts recording automatically.
It captures 10 seconds before and after the event. This is a real lifesaver, especially in more crowded areas where incidents happen more frequently. A radar sensor ensures the camera’s motion detection system is precise and accurate.
The latter even tracks cars ahead of you while you’re navigating congested roads. There’s minimal risk of battery drain too (a key concern for many dash cam owners). The DDPAI N5 Dual is designed to be energy efficient, only recording when necessary.

This means you don’t have to worry about the camera draining your car’s battery, even if you leave it parked for long periods. This is a great feature for those who often park their car in areas where the dash cam needs to keep running even when you’re not around.
It has a dual storage system, ensuring that if the memory card happens to get corrupted, the camera has an internal backup to make sure your footage is safe. This means you won’t have to worry about losing critical video evidence, should a situation arise.
Rated to withstand temperatures from -20 to 60-degrees Celsius, its built-in supercapacitor prevents overheating in extreme temperatures. It also sports native GPS so that if you’re ever unfortunate enough to have an accident, the footage location is logged.
This comes in handy when needing to provide accurate details to insurers or police. Footage is accessible through a mobile app and with fast 5G connectivity, files can be transferred to your device, allowing you to share it immediately, if needed.
The dash cam also includes smart voice control, which allows you to take photos or activate other features without having to take your hands off the wheel. Whether you’re capturing a nice car in front of you or reacting to an unexpected moment, it makes it safer to operate.

But that’s also where one of this device’s few flaws comes in (granted it’s very minor). That capability is active by default, and can throw you off guard if you’re not expecting it, particularly the first time you install the device.
Finding the function to turn it off takes a bit of digging through the app (on which setup is dependent). Once it’s disabled though, it’s smooth sailing. The only other issue we found came in the way the rear camera is mounted.
The adjuster has a very low-profile design, which looks clean but doesn’t leave much clearance between the camera lens and the rear window. Because of this, the camera body can end up pressing against the glass, especially in cars with steep window angles.
It’s not a deal breaker, but it does make positioning the rear camera a bit trickier than it needs to be, and may require some creative mounting or additional spacing to get the ideal angle. That aside, the DDPAI N5 Dual dash cam is feature packed, and priced well.
At around $199, you’re getting a 4K dash cam with dual cameras, AI-enhanced motion and radar detection, and a whole host of other features. When compared to other dash cams in the same price range, it offers great value for money.

It’s been reliable to date, and with its sharp image quality, motion detection, GPS, and heat resistance, DDPAI’s offering is hard to fault. The mobile app integration and dual storage system provide added convenience and security.
The DDPAI N5 Dual can be purchased from JB Hi-Fi, Amazon Australia, and the DDPAI Official Online Store.
