Civic Type R gets new hue and price rise

Honda Australia has announced that the 2025 production run of the exclusive FL5 Civic Type R will welcome a striking new colour – Racing Blue. It will also come with a price hike, and now cost $79,000 drive away.

The sought-after FL5 Type R is a product of Honda’s racing heritage and expertise, blending exceptional ride and handling with the stunning performance of its VTEC turbo 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine, tuned to produce 235kW of power and 420Nm of torque.

Designed in Japan, it boasts a sleek exterior, with integrated advanced aerodynamics. That’s complemented by the new Racing Blue colour, which replaces Rally Red. You can of course opt for the historic Championship White, Crystal Black and Sonic Grey.

“We’re pleased to welcome the new Racing Blue colour providing a genuine performance model halo presence.”

Elevating the exterior styling and aerodynamics of Civic Type R is an optional carbon fibre spoiler (priced at $5,300), with all new Honda vehicles bundled with the car maker’s Road Ahead Guarantee.

It provides a 5-year unlimited kilometre warranty, 5-years roadside assist and five scheduled services at a fixed $199 price. To find out more about the 2025 Honda Civic Type R, contact your local dealership.
