FRENCH car maker Citroen has added a breath of fresh air to the compact SUV market, with the introduction of the brand new C3 Aircross, its cool little SUV that was inspired by the C-Aircross concept car presented at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show.
Hitting the tarmac at $32,990 plus on-roads, the funky compact comes bundled with extensive safety equipment including AEB and blind spot monitoring, and will be available in just a single specced-up version locally.
Complete with a striking colour palette, as you would expect from Citroen, the C3 Aircross features a unique spacious, modular design and is powered by an 81kw 1.2-litre PureTech e-THP 110 turbo petrol engine, generating 205Nm of torque.
The power plant is mated to an Aisin 6-speed automatic transmission, with the pint-sized SUV riding on 17-inch alloys, and featuring raised ground clearance, a high-set driving position, and front and rear skid plates.
It also comes with forward collision alert, automatic high beam, driver attention alert, city park assist, lane departure warning, a head-up display, speed limit recognition and recommendation, a bevy of airbags and ESC.
Inside, there’s a Bluetooth-compatible 7-inch touchscreen for navigation and digital audio, with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and MirrorLink, auto air conditioning, height-adjustable driver’s seat, electrically-adjustable door mirrors and automatic wipers and headlights.
Front and rear parking sensors are here to in this feature packed little SUV, as is key-less entry and start, LED daytime running lights, a rear window wiper, electric windows, a grey mica cloth interior and finally, a height and reach-adjustable steering wheel.
The 2019 Citroen C3 Aircross is available now, and offers a unique take on the urban-centric SUV in five high contrast and contemporary colour packs, all featuring a two-tone roof, and contrasting highlights package.
