Chery Omoda 5 pricing confirmed

The Chery Omoda 5 range will arrive in Australia priced from just $29,900 plus on-roads, fulfilling a brand promise to deliver style, substance and incredible value to Australian new-car buyers.

Chery, one of China’s biggest automotive brands and now a wholly owned OEM in Australia, will launch the Omoda 5 in two feature-packed trim levels, with the base bearing just the model name. The top-spec carries the EX moniker.

The entry model will arrive packed with style, safety and technology features, including a turbocharged 1.5-litre petrol engine (115kW/230Nm), nine step CVT, 18-inch alloys, LED headlights and DRLs and remote engine start functionality.

It also scores cabin pre-heating and pre-cooling, keyless entry with push-button start, noise-reduction windshield with silent wipers, synthetic leather seats, twin-zone climate control with rear vents and a six-way power-adjusted driver’s seat.

One-touch power windows in all doors, front of cabin ambient lighting, and a twin-screen digital dash (10.25-inch driver display and 10.25-inch central infotainment screen also feature, along with wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and wireless device charging.

An 8-speaker Sony stereo, AI-powered “Hello Chery” voice-control and a full suite of high-tech safety systems are also included. Lane change assist, lane departure warning and prevention, blind spot detection and adaptive cruise control all feature.

You’ll also find integrated cruise assist, front collision warning, rear cross traffic alert, rear cross traffic braking, autonomous emergency braking, traffic jam assist, speed limit and speed control assist, traffic sign recognition, and driver monitoring.

The Omoda 5 EX ($32,900 plus on-roads) adds red brake callipers and design flourishes, “OMODA” puddle lighting, ambient interior lighting (front and rear of cabin), heated front seats and steering wheel, and a power-adjust front passenger seat.

There’s also a powered boot and sunroof, and a 360-degree around-view camera. Backed by Chery’s 7-year unlimited kilometre warranty, it’s offered with 7-years roadside assist and 7-years capped price servicing.
