Hot on the heels of its local launch of the 800MT-X adventure bike, Chinese bike maker CFMOTO has confirmed a larger sibling. Unveiled at EICMA (the world’s biggest motorcycle show), a 1000MT-X will head the lineup in 2026.
Designed for maximum adventure, with strong off road capabilities, it’s powered by an entirely in-house developed 948.2cc parallel twin engine, delivering 83kW and 105Nm. It sports ride-by-wire electronics and a 6-speed gearbox.
A quick shifter and slipper clutch round out a solid package that tips the scales at 222kg. A 22.3-litre tank promises generous range, with a vertically-oriented 8-inch TFT display providing all the necessary information you’ll need on your rides.
Bluetooth connectivity and a load of aluminium protection plates are also standard. The saddle can be adjusted between 830mm and 870mm to suit a variety of riders, while the windshield can also move. Cruise control and heated grips round out the offering.
Fully adjustable KYB suspension offers 230mm of travel at the front and 190mm at the rear, which represent some decent enduro numbers. The 21 and 18-inch spoked wheels are shod with Pirelli STR tires for mixed asphalt-dirt use.

The brakes, with radial front calipers, are supplied by Brembo. Bosch electronics include cornering ABS and traction control that can be adjusted or deactivated for the most extreme use.
There’s no word yet on pricing, but the bike has been confirmed for the Australian market. It’s due to land here in Q2 of next year. There’s no details on the CFMOTO website yet, but that should change between now and launch.
In the meantime, you can find out more from your local dealership.
