BSA Motorcycles is set to Australia in mid-2026, bringing its lineup of reimagined classic models along for the ride. The global bike brand has appointed Leisk Moto Imports (LMI) as the official distributor for the local market.
Following launches in the UK, Europe, India, Japan and New Zealand, global expansion will now include Australia, with BSA having unveiled three new bikes last year. Owned by Classic Legend, its range of heritage-styled motorcycles have plenty to offer.
The original BSA brand launched in Australia more a century ago and remains beloved among those who remember the cherished Bantam Bushman from the 1960s. This time round, its range includes the classic Gold Star 650, the rugged Scrambler 650, and agile Bantam 350.
Every BSA motorcycle honours its storied heritage and classic design, while promising the power and efficiency of a modern day bike. Every bike is LAMS approved, a conscious choice by the brand to introduce more people to the joy of riding, regardless of skill level.
The Gold Star 650 is powered by a 652cc liquid-cooled single cylinder engine, and features modern-retro roadster styling. The Scrambler utilises the same engine and adds off road capabilities, Brembo brakes, dual-channel ABS, and grippy Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tyres.
The Bantam 350 offers an entry level experience, and features a round headlight, teardrop fuel tank and curved rear fender. A fourth model, BSA’s first adventure bike, dubbed the Thunderbolt, will land this year.
It features rally-style aesthetics, premium traction control and three ABS modes, and is a nod to the original Thunderbolt tourer from the past. Led by managing director Jeff Leisk, a former professional racer, LMI brings deep industry knowledge to support the BSA brand.
Having served as managing director of KTM Australia for more than 20 years, he possesses extensive experience across distribution, dealer development, marketing, racing, and customer engagement. That should stand BSA in good stead.
