BMW X2 and first-ever iX2 set to arrive down under in Q1, 2024

BMW Australia will enhance its diverse and expanding model portfolio next year with launch of a new X2, with a fully electric iX2 xDrive30 set to join the xDrive20i and M35i xDrive. The entire line-up will arrive in Australia in the first quarter of 2024.

Now in its second generation, the popular compact SUV (or Sports Activity Coupé as BMW like to call it) will feature a 150kW/300Nm base model in the form of the xDrive20i, and a 233kW performance variant in the guise of the M35i xDrive.

The latter is powered by a 2.0-litre four cylinder engine that’s capable of propelling it to 100km/h in just 5.4 seconds. In the case of the iX2, the addition of this new EV offering will grow the company’s fully electric line-up to 13 variants.

On the technology front, a host of BMW digital services, including iDrive with QuickSelect, BMW Operating System 9, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto will feature, along with a host of safety via the car maker’s Driving Assistant Professional package.

This includes steering and lane control, active cruise control with stop/go, and blind spot monitoring, as well as Parking Assistant Plus. The latter provides a surround-view camera, reversing assistant and drive recorder.

Other highlights include a head-up display, comfort access and a digital key. Pricing starts at $75,900 plus on-roads for the X2 xDrive20i, with customer deliveries for all models to begin early next year.

BMW iX2 pricing and specifications will be announced at the end of October. Customers can choose from one solid paint (Alpine White) and an array of metallic paint finishes for the exterior of their new BMW X2, including the new Fire Red metallic.

Two Frozen shades from BMW Individual and a host of special paint finishes are also available. For more information, contact your BMW dealer. If you’re keen on one and need finance, talk to CreditOne.
