BMW launches refreshed C 400 scooters

BMW has launched new C 400 X and GT scooters, with the duo expected to arrive in Australia in the first quarter of 2025. Each is powered by a single-cylinder petrol engine, delivering 25kW of power and 35Nm of torque.

The BMW C 400 X is designed to excel in urban environments, emphasising dynamic performance and responsive handling. The GT is tailored for touring, providing an enhanced level of comfort and extended range to accommodate long-distance rides.

Both scooters boast a CVT gearbox and a high-rigidity powerset swing arm to deliver smooth, dynamic power. Each is equipped with ABS Pro as standard, with dynamic brake control providing a highly sensitive and stable braking response.

Dynamic traction and engine drag torque control are also standard, further enhancing safety during acceleration and coasting. The system mitigates slippery conditions and excessive rear wheel slip.

A 6.5-inch TFT display features, with Connectivity Pro on the C 400 GT “ion” variant, which also gives riders a larger 10.25-inch display. The display integrates seamlessly with BMW’s Connected app, operated through a multi-controller on the left handlebar.

The system allows the rider to safely and conveniently navigate, make calls, and listen to music via Bluetooth through a connected smartphone (which sits in an actively cooled storage compartment).

The BMW C 400 X and GT now offer increased storage capacity under the seat too, with the former gaining 3.0-litres, and the latter, when including its front pockets, gaining up to 12-litres of additional space. The GT scores a manually adjustable windshield.

An optional luggage rack is available as an accessory, and can be paired with a 43.5-litre top case that can handle up to 10kg of payload. Inside, you’ll find interior lighting and a USB charging port.

In addition to the basic Blackstorm metallic version (which has black rims and brake callipers), the BMW C 400 X has a new “Rugged” variant, featuring Kalamata metallic matte finish paint, red rims, off-road focused tyres and golden brake callipers at the front.

For a more robust look, a tinted windshield, a red-black seat bench, stainless steel footboard inserts and hand guards are available as optional accessories. For a more elegant look, the BMW C 400 GT is also available in a new “Exclusive” model variant.

This brings with it a Diamond White metallic body colour, golden rims, and a black seat with embroidered emblem in the rim colour. This further complements the golden brake callipers at the front and adds an air of elegance.

    • Hi Marty,
We’d recommend reaching out to BMW Motorrad in the US, we don’t have any visibility on stock levels globally – we just write the news. 🙂
      Cheers,
      ND
