Aussie exclusive Bathurst Edition Emira arrives

Simply Sports Cars, a name synonymous with Lotus in Australia, has revealed its limited build Emira Turbo Bathurst Edition in front of 120-plus customers at the 2026 Bathurst Lotus Only Track Day.

First teased as a concept at last year’s event, and limited to just 15 examples (with build #1 already sold), the Lotus Emira Turbo Bathurst Edition is available to order from $249,990 plus on-road costs.

Entry to the next Lotus Bathurst track day scheduled for 2027 is provided complimentary to each of the lucky owners. The car itself features motorsport-inspired aero, consisting of a front splitter and GT4 style rear wing, both constructed from lightweight carbon fibre.

A race car influenced livery, coupled with a Bathurst Edition logo, adorn the side and rear exterior of the car, which carries a lower stance thanks to upgraded, three way adjustable suspension. Owners are free to choose their wheel colour to best suit their paint scheme.

Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 high performance tyres are fitted as standard. Buyers can opt for Yokohama A052 rubber, if they prefer. An individually numbered build plate is affixed inside the vehicle.

“Simply Sports Cars has built a strong enthusiast and track day community, and our Lotus-only Bathurst days are the centrepiece,” SSC managing director Lee Knappett said.

“SSC has been coming to Bathurst with Lotus since 2005, firstly with the one make Lotus Trophy Series, and then we ran a number Lotus Exige cars in the Bathurst 12 Hour race,” he added.

“In 2018 we stayed on at the mountain and offered our customers the rare opportunity to drive their own cars all day on the most iconic piece of racing tarmac available in Australia – Mt Panorama.”

Thus, the Bathurst Lotus Only Track Day was born. The event has evolved over the years and now includes a welcome dinner, complete with premium hospitality and a live band. The Emira Turbo Bathurst Edition then becomes the next logical progression.

The car is underpinned by the already proven Lotus Emira Turbo, powered by a tried and tested AMG-sourced M139 2.0-litre turbo engine, producing 375kW of power. This is coupled to an 8-speed DCT transmission, offering the best of both driving worlds.

Relax and let the auto box do its thing on the way to the track, before selecting Track Drive mode and switching the gearbox to manual. You can then use the steering wheel mounted paddles to snap through the gears as you take full control of up and downshifts.

Fully independent double wishbone suspension is featured on all four corners, with a revised wheel alignment ensuring steering response is superbly sharp. Slowing things down are AP Racing four-piston front and rear calipers, and two-piece ventilated discs.
