Audi confirms specs and pricing for third-gen Q5 and SQ5

Audi has confirmed pricing and specs for its third-generation Q5 and SQ5 SUV. The new models represent a significant step forward in technology, driving dynamics, luxury, and electrified efficiency.

Pricing for the Audi Q5 range starts from $81,000 plus on-roads, with the entry model benefitting from a substantial increase to standard equipment, reinforcing its position as a leader in the premium SUV segment.

Recognised for its exceptional blend of spacious practicality, sophisticated luxury, dynamic performance, and superior build quality, this third-generation enhances these core attributes, introducing advanced electrification in its clever mild hybrid plus technology.

At launch, the Audi Q5 range for Australia will consist of a front-wheel drive Q5 TFSI and the Q5 TDI, the latter in both quattro and quattro sport trim, as well as the V6 TFSI engine-powered performance variant in the SQ5 (along with a limited run launch version).

A choice of two sophisticated engines will be offered at launch: a 150kW TFSI front-wheel drive variant and a 150kW TDI featuring Audi’s acclaimed quattro all-wheel drive system. Both engines incorporate Audi’s latest MHEV plus electrified technology.

This includes an advanced integrated powertrain generator that generates additional drive torque of up to 230Nm and up to 18kW of power. They’ll be joined by the Audi Q5 and SQ5 Sportback in late 2025 to complete the full range by early next year.

The exterior design of the Q5 TFSI and TDI quattro showcases Audi’s new sportier look, with the new model featuring a taut, high shoulder line for a powerful silhouette connecting the front and rear lights.

While flaunting a new look, the Q5 is still familiar, with the sporty, wide Singleframe sitting high and flanked by large vertical air curtains. Standard S line exterior styling is complemented by 19-inch alloy wheels in a sophisticated graphite grey, gloss turned finish.

Matrix LED headlights with selectable digital signatures and new rear projection lighting technology project unique graphics onto the rear window, adding distinctiveness and enhanced safety visibility.

High-gloss aluminium trims complete the Q5’s appearance. Inside, the central component of the model’s new interior is the Digital Stage, which is set up in front of the driver and front passenger with clearly aligned displays integrated into a curved screen.

The slim, free-standing Audi MMI panoramic display features OLED technology and houses an 11.9-inch virtual cockpit and the 14.5-inch touch display. Premium leather-appointed upholstery features, along with powered and heated front seats.

Both have 4-way adjustable headrests. A four-spoke multifunction steering wheel, colour ambient lighting, illuminated front door sill trims, matte brushed aluminium inlays and soft-wrap interior detailing create a spacious environment for occupants.

Wireless smartphone integration, a digital key, Audi phone box light with cooling functionality, and Audi connect plus services elevate digital connectivity. Safety and driver assistance technology are comprehensive too.

These include active front assist with autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, side assist, park assist plus, and a 360-degree camera system. Nine airbags, rear occupant detection and speed sign recognition all feature.

The new range also introduces the Q5 TDI quattro sport, which scores 20-inch alloy wheels in a 5-twin-Y- spoke design, a panoramic sunroof, sport front seats with integrated headrests, and an S line interior.

The SQ5 will include an “edition one” variant that builds on this model, adding a unique black styling package including gloss-black roof rails, mirror caps, window trims, anthracite grey Audi rings, and dark tailpipe trims.

Privacy glass, red brake calipers, and exclusive 20-inch black metallic Audi Sport alloy wheels further accentuate its visual appeal. The interior features leather appointed upholstery complemented by S embossing, and stainless steel pedals.

A flat-top and bottom multifunction steering wheel, and dark headlining complete a package that starts at $106,400 plus on-roads. At the apex of the range, the high-performance SQ5 is powered by a potent 270kW V6 TFSI engine.

It achieves a blistering 0-100km/h sprint in only 4.5 seconds, establishing this as the fastest SQ5 to date. It’s priced at $122,400 plus on-roads. Audi’s quattro all-wheel-drive systems and sports-tuned frequency-selective dampers deliver enhanced handling.

Standard progressive steering enhances agility. Externally, the SQ5 differentiates itself with exclusive 21-inch Audi Sport alloy wheels in a multi- spoke black metallic and gloss S design, metallic paint, acoustic front glazing for improved cabin quietness.

Aluminium-look trims, and distinctive S exterior styling also feature. The SQ5 interior elevates luxury with ventilated, heated, and massaging front seats finished in premium diamond-stitched leather, as well as soft wrap Dinamica upholstery elements throughout.

A Bang & Olufsen 3D premium sound system with 16-speakers, a head-up display, and USB interfaces offering rapid charging capability underscore the SQ5’s luxurious technological environment.

Across both ranges, customers have a choice of ten exterior colours, including three striking new additions: Tambora Grey, Grenadine Red, and Sakhir Gold. Inside, a range of upholstery options and interior trim packages are available.

The Audi Q5 and SQ5 range comes with a five-year unlimited kilometre warranty, with examples set to land in showrooms in the coming weeks.
