THE strictly limited and performance-laden Mercedes-AMG C 63 S Coupé ‘Aero Edition 63’ is set for local showrooms, equipped with an exclusive and eye-catching package of upgrades for those who are quick to act.
Just 63 examples of the stunning Aero Edition 63 will hit the road in Australia and New Zealand, featuring functional enhancements as well as distinctive trim and colour elements.
As the name implies, the Aero Edition 63 features wind tunnel tested aerodynamic extras to increase down force and grip, including an exclusive AMG Performance rear spoiler, a unique and distinctive front lip, and an aerodynamically optimised diffuser.
Additional side facings for the air vents in the rear apron have also been added and a number of components comprise lightweight carbon-fibre, including the AMG front apron A-wing and inserts in the side sills.
The diffuser insert in the AMG rear apron, the rear spoiler, and the exterior mirror housings are also carbon-fibre, as are a number of items inside, including the centre console trim.
There are also attractive aluminium inserts across the dashboard and doors, and the flat bottomed AMG Performance Steering Wheel is clad in carbon fibre and DINAMICA. AMG Performance front seats are standard too.
These have been upholstered in a trim combination reserved exclusively for the Aero Edition 63, with Nappa leather in Magma Grey and Black, and finished with yellow stripes. Further yellow detailing subtly highlights the cabin.
The Aero Edition 63 also adds further AMG enhancement via a high-performance ceramic composite front braking system, featuring 402 x 39 mm ceramic compound brake discs (internally ventilated and perforated), with six-piston fixed calipers.
At the rear, 360 x 26 mm discs are supported by 1-piston combined floating calipers, and all brake calipers feature a distinctive gold paint finish, with ‘AMG Carbon Ceramic’ lettering.
These work in concert with an ultra-lightweight AMG twin spoke forged alloy wheel package in staggered diameters of 19-inch for the front wheels, and 20-inch at the rear, and finished in matte black.
The limited edition Mercedes-AMG C 63 S Coupé Aero Edition 63 is offered in a choice of Polar White or Iridium Silver paint, and badged as 1 of only 63. On sale now, it costs $188,600 plus on-roads.
In other news, from 1 April 2020, Mercedes-Benz Australia will switch from a 3-year warranty structure to a new five-year unlimited kilometre warranty.
The new warranty covers the entire passenger car range including Mercedes-AMG models, the all-electric EQC and plug-in hybrid variants.
