Abarth introduces exclusive 695 70° Anniversario special edition

Based on the current Abarth 595 Competizione hatchback, and limited to just 40 local examples, the Abarth 695 70° Anniversario special edition has been developed to represent the year of foundation for the car maker.

The Abarth 695 70° Anniversario is equipped with a manually adjustable Assetto Variabile spoiler, designed by engineers in the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles wind tunnel in Orbassano, Italy.

The manually adjustable spoiler allows for 12 different positions, with an inclination from 0 to 60 degrees. This refines vehicle performance, achieves aerodynamic optimisation and improves stability at high speeds.

“The Abarth 695 70° Anniversario is a tribute to Abarth’s racing past and provides customers with the opportunity to own a piece of history,” Abarth brand and product strategy director Guillaume Drelon said.

Seamlessly blending iconic style cues from both past and present, the Abarth 695 70° Anniversario features the unmistakable sound of the Monza exhaust and green Monza 1958 livery.

It’s a tribute to the colour of the first Abarth 500 that set six international records at Monza that same year. Campovolo Grey accents appear on the body kit, front and rear DAMs, mirror caps and aforementioned spoiler.

A chequered roof and scorpion bonnet decal enhance the vehicle’s sporty design, while bright red Brembo calipers accentuate on the 17-inch SuperSport alloy wheels. Abarth’s heritage is also referenced through an on body ‘695’ badge and scorpion emblem.

The cockpit dons sporty and exclusive Sabelt Tricolore seats, with an authentication plate as well. Convenience features include the fourth-generation 7-inch Uconnect touchscreen with satellite navigation, DAB, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

There’s also automatic climate control, LED fog lights, Xenon headlights, automatic headlamps and rain sensitive wipers.

Powered by a 1.4-litre turbo engine, the Abarth 695 70° Anniversario delivers 134kW of power and torque of 250Nm, which allows a top speed of 225km/h. It’s available with a manul or dualogic transmission and is priced from $44,950 plus on roads.

Mick is a car fanatic, with petrol pumping through his veins. With a deep love for cars, and what makes them tick, Mick likes things that go fast, very fast. But he also appreciates a Sunday cruise in the Rolls...... who are we kidding, he'd drive the wheels off that too.
