2023 Kawasaki ZX-10R hits dealerships with fresh look

Kawasaki’s iconic Ninja ZX-10R has landed in dealerships, with a list of updates headed by a fresh new look, well two actually, including Lime Green/Ebony and Pearl Robotic White/Metallic Diablo Black.

Priced from $26,740 plus on road costs, the Ninja ZX-10R carries the superbike halo for the Kawasaki brand for good reason: it’s been a multiple award-winning and World Superbike Championship-winning machine since it was first released in 2004.

The 2023 model carries the same performance-pushing DNA as the very first iteration, but is more potent thanks to enhancements to the 998cc, liquid-cooled, in-line four-cylinder engine and close-ratio gearbox.

Now producing 149kW of power and 115Nm of torque, it benefits from state-of-the-art machining technology used in the design of the intake ports, which promote smoother flow and a greater volume of fuel-air mixture.

Other key engine features include an electronic throttle, slipper clutch, finger-follower valve actuation for a higher rev limit, and more aggressive cam profiles, titanium valves and an air-cooled oil cooler.

The performance, cooling and emissions included on the Ninja ZX-10R ensure its Euro 5 compliance, with the bike’s operation supported by a sophisticated IMU-enhanced electronics package with traction control, Ohlins steering damper, and cornering ABS.

Launch control and a bi-directional quick-shifter, also feature, along with integrated riding modes and electronic cruise control. All of them are just the ticket for road riding, along with the full-colour TFT instrument screen with smartphone connectivity.

The twin-spar aluminium frame, sharp geometry, high-grade fully adjustable Showa suspension and lightweight three-spoke wheels help to deliver superb stability, handling, and millimetre-precision cornering.

Brembo M50 monobloc four-piston callipers provide the stopping power, while a range of optional accessories include heated grips, a solo seat, engine guards, a frame slider set, scratch-resistant film for the TFT screen, and bike covers.
